I KNEW They Were “Fuzzy Math” Numbers~Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

That would be the new poll numbers that just came out showing Obama with a 50% approval rating. Oh, and the other part of this “poll” is that Obama would beat any comers. People like Bob Beckel on “The Five” have been crowing about these very numbers. Oh, yeah.

Except as Ed Morissey of Hot Air points out, these numbers may not be as they appear. What a BIG surprise – not. I mean, really, they just pulled this crapola with the “unemployment numbers” the other day, claiming they dropped to 8.3%. Well, um, the problem with THAT is that the alleged drop to 8.5% was also a crock of hooey. Those numbers, as people may recall, were the direct result of a ton of people(approximately 400,000) simply giving up. And these numbers are being CELEBRATED now? Wow, that’s cold.

Back to this whole WaPo/ABC poll thing they are now pushing.Morrissey breaks down the numbers:

[snip]…First, this is a poll of general population adults rather than registered or likely voters, so it’s not even a proper polling type for the predictive outcome they claim.

More importantly, though, the poll series has dropped its reporting of partisan identification within their samples. It’sthe second time that the poll has not included the D/R/I split in its sample report, and now it looks as though this will be policy from this point forward. Since this is a poll series that has handed double-digit partisan advantages to Democrats in the past (for instance, this poll from April 2011 where the sample only had 22% Republicans), it’s not enough to just hear “trust us” on sample integrity from the Washington Post or ABC.

One cannot determine whether Obama’s improvement in this series is a result of the State of the Union speech, as Dan Balz and Jon Cohen suggest, or whether it’s due to shifting the sample to favor Democrats more so than in previous samples. The same is true for the Post’s report that Obama “for the first time has a clear edge” over Romney head-to-head. One would need a poll of registered or likely voters to actually make that claim (one has to register to cast a vote, after all), and one would need to see the difference in partisan splits between this and other surveys in the series to determine whether the movement actually exists or got manufactured by the pollster.[snip] (Click here to read the rest which includes an update, though it does not change the premise of this post.)

Uh huh. I knew there was some numbers massaging going on. What did they do, walk over to the closest Occupied Park and ask all the young folk who they liked, that cool, hip, Obama, or mean old man who likes to fire people? Okay, okay, so they called some old curmudgeons they saw kicking puppies, and yelling at young school children to get off their lawns, and asked them, too.

Ahem.

It is really amazing to me to what lengths these folks will go to prop up Obama and his failed policies. Seriously, why not just try TELLING THE TRUTH for a change, and let people make up their own minds?? I mean, really – just do an accurate poll, clearly indicate the makeups of those polled, and just tell the TRUTH. Hey, it’s just a thought.

Instead, they act like this is our national anthem:

Uh huh. Enough already. Stop lying about the GM bailout, tell the truth about how much we are still owed; tell the truth about Solyndra, and all the other green companies we gave money to who didn’t deserve it, and who are now going belly up, or laying off tons of people; tell the truth about “Fast & Furious,” and give a REAL apology to Agent Terry’s family; stop pitting neighbor against neighbor using lies, lies, and more lies to try and get people on your side by belittling, demeaning, and attacking others; and I could go on and on and on. (I am sure people can come up with plenty more examples – feel free!)

When it comes to the numbers, while they might not lie, they don’t always tell the whole truth, either. Especially when you look at who’s doing the telling…

Yeah, what’s the point of working so hard to teach kids math when we’re just going to have politicians muck it all up? What’s that saying, “there are lies, damn lies, and than there are statistics?”

We’re kind of an odd society. We like to watch the weatherman on TV instead of poking our head out the door. Where I live it’s kind of comical because more often than not the weatherman is dead wrong. He’ll say there’s zero chance of rain and it will be raining so hard, people are running to get sandbags. So, the moral of my story is that people should poke their head out now and than and take a look at what is going on around them. Just because some pundit declares something is true, doesn’t make it so.

  2. “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

So the MSM is having a imaginitive bowel movement? Imagine that! LOL

    Great read Rev.Amy.

Obama and company can’t tell the truth, because they’re afraid that even the most clueless obot will finally realize they bought a pig in a poke. The truth would be devastating for them to admit and for us to hear and they know it. I despise dishonesty more than any other thing. If you don’t have the truth, you don’t have anything.

  4. I am unshocked that The Post will no longer report the D/R/I split in its polling. But wow. Still I sort of am shocked. We are sinking much faster than I thought into despotism. They have reached the part where they dont even bother hiding it very well.
