That would be Van Jones. In case you need a refresher as to who he is, he was Obama’s Green Czar until it came out that he was also a 9/11 Truther. Then he was forced to resign. (And again, this highlights just one of the problems with Obama’s czars – they are not subject to Congressional oversight.)
But a 9/11 Conspiracist was not the only thing about Van Jones. One can add “communist” to his resume:
Ah, and Valerie Jarrett is in the mix for getting this man into the White House. What a big surprise – ahem. We all know she really runs the joint anyway, so yeah, not a surprise that she had been following his career.
Van Jones, the former Obama Administration green czar who resigned in controversy, appears on the fast track to a political comeback — emerging as a star at this weekend’s California Democratic convention and lauded by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as a “leader of the future.”
Jones, who as head of an activist group called “Rebuild the Dream” has become a leading voice of the Occupy movement, was given the star speaking slot to address hundreds at the kickoff Friday night reception here sponsored by state party chair John Burton.
To the cheers of the grassroots activists, Jones endorsed a “millionaires’ tax” as a means of firing up younger voters in the 2012 election, saying “that will get their attention.”
While Jones didn’t specify if he was referring to a specific ballot initiative titled the “Millionaire’s Tax,” or the general idea of taxing the top 1 percent income earners, he argued that under-30 voters critical to Democratic successes in 2012 will find appealing “the idea that the people that already climbed that ladder (of success) will give something back.”
Well, here’s a little newsflash for Jones: we already do. How much more should working people, people who do pay taxes, have to pay? Forty Percent? Fifty Percent? Sixty Percent? Sot he people who make the money end up not even being able to have enough money to pay their bills, or to have a well deserved vacation, because they won’t be able to AFFORD it.
Just to be clear, I am not talking about the multi-millionaires and billionaires, but people who make over $250,000. In many places in this nation, that is not as much money as you think it would be. And not for nothing, but they EARNED it. They should be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor without the government taking a big chunk of change to support the 50% of people who pay not a cent to the Federal government. They should be able to have some expendable income above their bills since they are WORKING for it.
But wait, there’s more:
[snip] The effusive reception given to Jones underscores that the former community activist appears in resurgence since the days after the Obama Administration green czar was forced to resign after controversial statements and ties with grassroots groups that Republicans claimed had radical roots.
Jones apologized for some of his actions, including signing a petition for 911Truth.org which appeared to suggest the Bush Administration “may indeed deliberately have allowed 9/11 to happen.”
The activist himself joked Friday that the stint with the White House represented “the best six months of my life..followed by the worst two weeks.” (Click here to read the rest.)
Oh, brother. Well, it seems this former White House employee, Occupy Wall Street leader, and declared communist, is not very far from the hearts of leading liberals, including Valerie Jarrett, our real president.
And speaking Valerie Jarrett, there is a major series breaking at The Daily Caller about the “non-profit” Media Matters, its founder and director, David Brock, and its very, very close ties to the White House. This looks to be an explosive expose, and I urge you to read it all. I cannot possibly do justice to even this article – it is 6 pages long. But I do want to give you a taste of it, which highlights the mental status of its founder, and director, David Brock:
[snip] Brock, the head of the liberal nonprofit Media Matters for America, had told friends and co-workers that he feared he was in imminent danger from right-wing assassins and needed a security team to keep him safe.
The threat he faced while smoking on his roof? “Snipers,” a former co-worker recalled.
“He had more security than a Third World dictator,” one employee said, explaining that Brock’s bodyguards would rarely leave his side, even accompanying him to his home in an affluent Washington neighborhood each night where they “stood post” to protect him. “What movement leader has a detail?” asked someone who saw it.[snip] (Click here to read the rest.)
And then there is this assertion:
[snip] Donors have every reason to expect success, as the group’s effect on many news organizations has already been profound. “We were pretty much writing their prime time,” a former Media Matters employee said of the cable channel MSNBC. “But then virtually all the mainstream media was using our stuff.” [snip] (Click here to read the rest.)
This is just the tip of the iceberg with what The Daily Caller uncovered: meetings with Jarrett, weekly phone calls with the White House, and more from this “non-profit.”
This is all very disturbing from the glorification of the “future leader,” Van Jones, to this alleged non-profit media “watchdog” organization working hand in glove with the White House, MSNBC, and more.
Honestly, I don’t even recognize the Democratic Party anymore, and the blatant attacks it is waging on the Constitution, on journalism, on our way of life, and so much more. But that’s just me. How about you?
