That was Jon Stewart’s take over MSNBC’s absurd, even delusional, reporting about the recall results for Gov. Scott Walker Tuesday night. I have seen other posts about how incredibly bad the “reporting” was on the MSNBO channel, but to see these people, who are PAID for this crap, by the way, go on the way they did was just laughable. So, for your Friday reading, a little comic relief. Hey, it beats the hell out of watching Obama’s press conference, doesn’t it?
Thanks to Newsbusters’ Noel Sheppard for having the transcript of Stewart’s bit (there is a video, too, but YouTube won’t allow it, but here is a link to watch it):
[...]JON STEWART, HOST: If Fox was high, MSNBC must be MSNB-Sad.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
ED SCHULTZ, MSNBC: To say that I’m shocked and stunned is pretty much an understatement.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
STEWART: “Shocked and stunned is an understatement. No, it feels tonight more like my heart was f—ked by the devil.
(Laughter) No, wait, that’s an overstatement. Tonight I feel somewhere between shocked, stunned and devil heart f–ked. (Laughter) This is Ed Schultz.”
Indeed, MSNBC passed through all the stages of grief last night. Stage one, denial.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SCHULTZ: You know, NBC is calling it for Walker. Okay, I think it’s awful close and there’s a lot of absentee ballots yet that are still out.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
STEWART: Yeah, no. (Laughter) Stage two, denial.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
JOHN NICHOLS, NATION MAGAZINE: This will not be a massive win for Scott Walker.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
STEWART: Yeah. (Laughter) Finally, stage three, just really massive amounts of industrial-grade denial.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
LAWRENCE O’DONNELL, MSNBC: Tonight, the really big winner of the Wisconsin recall election is President Obama.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
(Laughter)
STEWART: Yep, just like Obama drew it up on the chalk board. “Hey, guys, I got an idea. What if we could figure out a way to have the core of what we believe soundly rejected by voters in a swing state just five months before the national election? It might just be the boost we need.” (Click here to read the rest.)
Uh, yeah, I am sure that is PRECISELY what Obama and his Minions had in mind. What a HUGE win for Obama to have Gov. Walker get more votes this time around than he did the last time around. I’m sure he’ll be making that into an ad any moment now. Yeah, right.
Yep, I think “MSNB-Sad” is the perfect moniker for that former news-station turned delusional propagandist for Obama.
And while I am talking about the whole fallout from the recall that wasn’t, I am sure you have heard the claim that Walker won because his side vastly outspent the other side. Yep, that is the ONLY reason he won. Not that the people wanted him to keep doing what he was doing, which was turn the state around. Anyway, they claims were as much as 7-1 Walker against the Recall-Demanding Set. Except – SURPRISE – that wasn’t true, not even close, as Hot Air highlights:
[...] You’ll find less shouty, but still misleading, versions of this all over the media, e.g., Reuters, NPR, and the WaPo’s Greg Sargent (who is shockingly more accurate at the margin on this one). They are all following the lead of Obama campaign flack Jim Messina, who is trying to raise money off the claim that conservative groups “were willing to spend nearly EIGHT times as much money as the Democratic candidate and his allies raised.”
[...]
The spending story stems from a release by the liberal Center for Public Integrity, which took based its analysis on data from the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign (ostensibly nonpartisan, but a past recipient of Soros money and the sort of group whose director told CPI the spending was “outrageous and wrong”). However, according to that data, when you combine the spending of the candidates and their supporting groups, the gap shrinks to 2-to-1.
It is interesting about the Soros money put into this recall effort, is it not? I am sure that you, like me, heard liberal pundit after liberal pundit claim that the only reason Walker won was because the Koch brothers and other deep pockets gave him money. But you NEVER heard the opposite, did you? No, I didn’t think so.
But wait, there’s more:
[...] Indeed, it should be underscored that the left/media here is focused entirely on spending in the gubernatorial recall, when this election was just one of many the left attempted to turn into referenda on Gov. Walker’s public-sector collective bargaining reforms. If once considers the total amounts spent during the Days of Cheesehead Rage on state senate recall elections, Supreme Court elections and so on in 2011-12, the gap shrinks to roughly 1.5-to-1.
Lastly, these figures only account for sums legally required to be publicly reported (and assumes those sums are properly quantified). Rutgers University economist Leo Troy has estimated that actual union political spending is likely several times higher than generally reported. There is no reason to think otherwise in this case. [...] (Click here to read the rest.)
In other words, the claim from the left is a bunch of hooey. And I LOVE how they are now attacking the Koch Brothers when George Soros himself was involved in this whole endeavor. Typical. I mean, really, have you seen a whinier bunch? Sheesh. Once again, it is okay for their side, but not for the other side. It is just the sheer hypocrisy of it all, combined with their sanctimonious attitude when throwing out those charges that gripe me. Enough of that crapola already.
So, yes, MSNB-Sad, and a number of other “news” organizations are engaging in promoting false memes, but that just seems to be how things go these days. I guess I’m going to have to start subscribing to the National Enquirer or something if I want REAL news. Ahem. But no one does it as well as MSNBO, do they?
I turned to MSNBC Thursday night just see what their reaction was; of course I wasn’t disappointed, still fools there. Thanks Amy for the post.
This will get them all riled up….

I wonder how many Americans would need 10 camels…lol
“Say What You Will…It Feels So Good”
Good grief – well, no denying where Al Qaeda stands, huh? Yikes…
When you play with fire, expect to get burned…
I would be more worried about Clinton, but then these people don’t usually regard the ladies in high esteem.
“Say What You Will…It Feels So Good”
Ed Schultz is an ignorant, ill-informed shill for obama. How does he explain obama’s news conference today….I am sure he thought it was stellar. obama clarifies the economy is not doing so good….REALLY??? No shit Sherlock.
You won’t want to miss o’s Monday news conference when he clarifies “Yes Michevil is black”. lmao
He makes my head hurt.

You said it, psstt – he really is. I am sure that O’Donnell will find a way to justify Obama’s complete and utter 180 in a matter of hours as an example of his “brilliance,” or some crap like that. It really is astonishing the positions these people put themselves in to defend him – they should be yoga instructors or something!
The Pretzel Coalition….
LOL – good one!
Ed Shultz is like a big lummox. Not at all smart and frozen in his POV no matter how many times he’s proven wrong. Somehow he made his claim to fame being a lefty ideologue and he can’t let go of his self-perceived image. He thinks he’s Mr. Cool Hipster. Sorry, Eddie you are far, far from being hip or cool.
You are right, he isn’t exactly the brightest bulb in the pack. And what is ironic is that when he was on Air America, he wasn’t so radically left. In fact, he was pretty middle of the road. I guess being in the nutzone is a requirement to work at MSNB-Sad…
MSNBC…..ha….the clown college of news networks.
ROTFLMAO – good one, SSDD!
I just cannot watch those clowns,High blood pressure ya know.
LOL – I know just what you mean, foxy!
How will msnbc, et al defend this…

What did obama receive in return for cooperation? I only ask as I don’t see him doing anything that would not benefit him in some way.
“Say What You Will…It Feels So Good”
That’s a great question, psstt. I’d like to know the answer to that, too.
What I don’t get is that Greg Palast reported on this, in HuffPo, no less, 3 yrs ago. Is everyone else just catching up, or is it that, as the scales fall from their eyes, they are a little bit more willing to look at these things?
Regardless, it seems this house of cards, as Peggy Noonan wrote abt the other day, is falling, and people are starting to notice…
And it is about damn time….guess they don’t want to be perceived as being members of the crew of a sinking ship!! A pox on all their houses for their parts in perpetuating the lies and the cover-ups.
“Say What You Will…It Feels So Good”
You said it – a pox on their houses for glorifying this man.
No doubt you are right – they are trying to revise history so they don’t look so bad when scandal after scandal continues to come out abt Obama and his White House…
I love how Obama picked the man that will investigate HIM!!!! ;lol:
Yeah, funny that, no? Especially since one of them has been an Obama contributor since 2004…While he may very well be able to separate the personal from his job, that just seems a bit too biased from the outset for me.
I am truly sick and tired of the double standards employed by the left. I’m even more sick and tired, though, of the lies being presented as truth because media outlets such as MSLSD know full well that their audience isn’t sophisticated enough to do any research and will buy the hogwash lock, stock, and barrel. These are serious no-information voters.
“MSLSD” – that is hysterical, Ferd! What a perfect moniker for that station! That’s what those people have to be on to say the kind of whacked out craziness on that station.
Good point – they do just buy the BS. Scary that they vote, isn’t it?
