Rainy Day Post and Other News Roundup *Open Thread*

I don’t know about where you live, but where we are, we have been having a bunch of rainy days. A friend in Florida had pictures posted that showed his street now a creek, water covering it completely all the way above the sidewalks. Yikes.

And of course, rain turned the Kentucky Derby into the Kentucky Mud Hole, which made for some mighty dirty riders and horses by the time it was all said and done. No telling how many pairs of goggles the jockeys went through on THAT trip (they stack them one on top of the other, and yank them down as they ride around the track). What a mess. In the end, Orb was triumphant, winning by 2 1/2 lengths. That was quite an achievement considering how far back he was:

Well, the Obama Administration continues to cast aspersions, demonize, and politicize the Benghazi attack as a way to avoid the truth, or to take any responsibility for what happened there. The other day,w e had Jay Carney, Official White House Spokesweasel, claim that Benghazi was – wait for it – “a long time ago.

That kind of mentality can leave one speechless trying to figure out which response to this assholic statement to say first. I kinda like Michelle Malkin’s comment, though:

[...]“I would say that it’s his mouth that has a long pattern of spreading misinformation,” Malkin shot back at Carney. “And, the smugness of this mouthpiece of the Obama administration – of course, that all comes from the top down – but there is literally nothing that will wipe that smirk off his face at a press briefing.”
